All Good Things Must Come to an End

After 16 years in the decorative paint industry, I have come to the difficult decision that it is time for a change.

Patina Finishes made me who I am today.  I am thankful for the many years of consistent work . . . the diverse clients, designers, and fellow artists that inspired me . . . the gorgeous homes that showcased my art . . .  and my loyal crew that helped to make it all happen.  

 This is not a sad goodbye, as I will continue to use my degree, experience, and creativity in interior design.

In June 2010, along with my mother and husband, we opened our dream retail store on the historic square of downtown McKinney.  Patina Green Home and Market is not only an unique home furnishings store, but also supports a local farmer's market, and all things "green".

 Thank you to everyone for all of the support throughout the many years.  I hope to see you soon in downtown McKinney!

Darling Homes Design Center

For the past seven years, Patina Finishes has been creating custom wall and woodwork finishes for the home builder Darling Homes.  We have finishes in all of their model homes throughout the Dallas area and an incredible collection of cabinet and wall samples at their design center.  I have posted pictures of the collections below.

 

 

Each wall finish has been put into a specific group or collection.  The finishes within the collection are designed to work together and compliment each other within a home. 

Of course, the finishes can also be chosen from different collections and mixed together to help create a customized home for each client.

This sample board is called Kimono Dragon.  It is an animal skin raised texture pattern with multiple layers of a paint finish.

 

 

This wall sample board is called Sandals.  It is a hand printed wallpaper in beautiful spa blue and muted taupe colors. 
   

 

   

Extreme Makeover Home Edition!

We are excited to announce our first national television premiere!  This summer Patina Finishes participated in rebuilding a home for a deserving Dallas family on the hit show, Extreme Makeover Home Edition!  It will air on ABC Sunday night, October 18th.

We created a custom wall treatment for the accent walls in the great room.  The walls were finished to resemble old oxidized sheet metal.  After the show airs, there will be more information and details about our finish on www.abc.com

Cast Stone Fireplaces

Many of our clients have the typical man-made cast stone fireplace mantles installed somewhere in their home.  By applying a special paint finish to the original white plaster, we can change the entire dynamic of a room.  These pictures are a few examples of fireplace mantles that we have finished.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dining Rooms

The dining room is my favorite room in a house to design.  I love knowing that many memorable nights will happen in the room.  Parties, intimate dinners, quality family time, many laughs and  good times.

These portfolio pictures show the wide range of design styles and looks that can be achieved by using wall finishing.

 

These bronze plaster walls were impressed with real "falling" leaves.

 

Love these slick and satin red plaster walls.

 

Shades of red are common colors for dining rooms.  This one is really set off with the aged finish wall paneling. 

 

These walls have been softly aged, just enough to highlight the skip troweled walls.  The entry was treated the same as the open designed dining room.

 

This barrel shaped ceiling was enhanced with cracked and aged bronze plaster.

 

This Spanish inspired dining room was made custom with the hand painted designed arches.

 

 

Love these faded walls with aged woodwork and three crystal chandeliers.

 

This contemporary dining space has smooth Tuscan Plaster walls and the ceiling was squared with real silver leaf.

   

The walls and ceilings in this Hill Country dining room was covered in faux animal skins / crinkled leather.  The handmade wallpaper was then tacked on with large bronze upholstery tacks.

 

These soft walls felt and looked like suede.
